About me

I am Laura, I am Italian and, after living in Australia for a while, I have been in Scotland since 2016.
I am based in this beautiful Country, specifically in West Lothian, with my dear husband, our lovely daughter and our super energetic dog.

I love my family life, meeting friends, baking, travelling, being in touch with nature, camping and hiking.

I have always been passionate about pregnancy and newborn babies. I have previously been a nanny for several families, and I loved being able to support them during those special first days with their newborns (and the new mothers too!🙂).

When I gave birth to our daughter, my husband and myself were alone here in Scotland (Covid restrictions).
We have never had the physical, supportive presence we might have needed, let alone when my husband returned to work and I was still recovering from my postnatal surgery.

As I have always said, my husband was the perfect doula for me, but he didn't have anyone to back him up when he needed it,
and I think that was a huge miss for us.

I became a doula to support other mothers and their families. I believe it is crucial that they are listened to and receive the necessary support, because this helps them to have the best possible birth and postnatal experiences.
